People didnt give two focks about acdc in the 90s and most of the 00s and now they’re packing out a stadium. Where did all these fans come from?

Middle age. That’s where.

Their music was quite extreme by most people’s standards back then but they’re considered more mainstream nowadays

A quick aul google will tell you that Razor’s Edge (partly recorded in Dublin), released in the 90’s, sold about 5 million albums. So. Probably some of those fans then.
Em, you left out the 70s and the 80s… that’s when I enjoyed ACDC… not so much the 70s though… I’m not that fupping old :)

They’ve always been huge. They’ve done sold out world tours for decades. Just check out YouTube for some of the huge arenas they played on the 80/90s.

they probably won’t tour for much longer – it might well be the last time fans will get to see them. hard to see where a new album’s going to come from too.

I know a good few people that went to the gig and they most certainly have never listemed to one of their albums. Thunderstruck started to get popular at weddinga around 2009 so I’m guessing this is where they got a lot of their current fan base.
Ugh…. Sounds horrid. If it was the case that most of the people there attended cos they heard them at weddings… Itd be a pretty grim crowd.

Awful lyrics but amazing energy in the “Highway to hell” and “Back in black” albums, best hard blues band in the world.

Very few bands have managed to sculpt a career from rewriting the same song for over 30 years quite as successfully as they have

Hiring a good logo-designer was one of their finest achievements as thousands of 1980s schoolbags proved.

BUT it’s very, very rare that you’ll hear an ac/dc song being covered well. they may be a one-trick pony, but no-one does that trick like they do.

Kinda like U2. Not sure that Bono can actually sing well, but no one can sing U2 songs as well as Bono…

Did you know………that the older brother of the AC DC Young Brothers, George, was in the Aussie band, The Easy Beats, who had a big hit with “Friday on my Mind”, back in 1966?
Any reports?
They blew a fuse.

George co-wrote that song, as well as “Love is in the Air”, sang by John Paul Young, and – wow – “Waiting for a train”, by Flash and the Pan.

..with harry vanda. they were both inaugurated into ARIA hall of fame in 1988 together.
A fantastic Gig. And some of us Middle aged men were those who saw them in the ’80’s and ’90’s as well. For those who continue to rock, We salute you.
