Not madly surprised tbh, last time I was there they turned away 11 paying customers in the 20 or so mins I was eating my bagel cos they’d decided to close an hour early… And last time I was in the one on Wicklow street I got a barely edible bagel. Their standards have been slipping and there’s a lot of competition in the market these days.

Your honesty is refreshing. It’s just awful when people lie in comment forums. Fair play and good luck to you.

I was in the one in Malahide for breakfast today and the place seemed like they are getting ready to close. Not enough staff and people were leaving as quick as they arrived.

I think itsa struggles as a concept. Bagels are quite a narrow range of options for a cafe and average revenue per customer is low.
The cafe in Dun Laoghaire, while serving good food, seems to close early, even on days when the weather is good and other traders are full.

Been working in Sandymount a bit lately, went in there occasionally. The coffee was grand, sandwiches tasty enough, the place looked like a squat take over by babies/toddlers though. Brownes won on the sandwich front.

Those damn fornicators and their offspring going out for brunch/lunch
Perhaps sandympunt should be declared an over 65s commune and controls put in place.

Found a clump of hair in my bagel in the Fitzwilliam Lane branch a while back. ‘Should be called ‘Itsa Hairy Bagel’ I quipped, as I tried not to gag.’
