All the decent new board games out there but the Monopoly people keep pushing the exact same poo with a new coat of paint. They don’t even bother to alter the artwork on the corner squares, would it kill them to change “Go to jail” to ” Sent to the wall” or something?
‘Suspended sentence’ would be more accurate.
Like Catan: Game of Thrones edition? You’d really need to evil it up a fair bit.
I’m pretty sure there’s already a GoT boardgame, no idea if it’s any good though.
Tricking people into buying Monopoly multiple time though by changing the art is both pooey and very much in keeping with the spirit of the game I guess.
It’s very, very good. But it’s a full day’s play for one game. With Catan, when everyone’s familiar you can knock one out* in about 90mins easy, with the GoT game it’s still more like 4 – 5 hours.
*stop that
…how exactly are people tricked?
When a man and a women don’t love each other at all but the man has enough money to get him thirty minu….*shephards hook*
Well… *blush*
Guilty.
The inclusion of the ‘free parking’ and other such corners really add to the immersive experience no doubt
Would work better as a version of Talisman.

“you have won £200 in a beauty contest”
One is a futile, brutal battle for supremacy where alliances are broken once they become inconvenient, the honourable get shafted and by the end everyone’s bearing grudges to last a century.
And the other one’s Game of Thrones.
Very good!
Has anyone ever actually completed a game of Monopoly?
