The great contradiction going on here is that while we welcome refugees from Syria there is simply nowhere for them to stay. Or is there? Either we have a homeless problem or we don’t. People are shouting out that the figure we should take in is not enough, but who’s brave enough to say how many is too much?
the great contradiction here is that europe’s elites make a nice few bob from perpetuating a conflict in syria but absolve themselves on any responsibility for those displaced by it. if you’re brave enough to shout about anything, you should direct your ire at the continued procrastination of our ‘leaders’ in providing anything like a response.
“Either we have a homeless problem or we don’t.”
Obviously there is a homeless problem, only a moron would try to pretend there isn’t. What you don’t have is the interest or the will to do anything about it.
I would have thought the Catholic Church has many vacant properties available to house people but their silence is deafening
Come on now Louise, what do you think they are, some kind of paragon of virtue?
