The funny thing about that sign is the luas doesn’t run 24/7
RobinBoy
I assume at the stops they mean.
Rugbyfan
Like the 24 Hour bus lanes!
RobinBoy
It’s great to record, but will it do anything?
The amount of trouble I saw on the RED line after 4 years of using was astonishing.
From kids just sitting on hand rails, “trying” to pole dance to loud sh1tty music, to full on fights, robberies and abuse been thrown at everyday folk who just want to get on with their own business.
So glad I very seldom have to use this embarrassment of a service.
Grouse
It’s an amazing service. The amount of people it’s moving in and out of the city daily, reliably, without issue or injury. The amount of traffic it’s taken off the road in the last decade. It’s not an embarrassment at all.
It’s a little too expensive, and Veolia give off the worst kind of creepy, corporate vibe with their posters, but the LUAS itself is great.
RobinBoy
Right in fairness I will retract the comment about the service as just that. The service of providing rail transport. But that’s it.
Still very much glad not to use this.
It still baffles me how expensive it is.
I know in Rome they have almost identical system except it’s 1 euro for 90 minutes travel.
ReproBertie
What’s that? A similar service in a much bigger city in a different country costs less than here? I’m outraged!
Grouse
I’ll never understand Irish pricing.
Jones
I hear they have trains in China too.
Paolo
That’s not true. It is €1.50 for 1 trip on the metro
The pretty priest
You can board a platform shelter 24hrs a day
Eamonn Clancy
I think it’s safe to say these posters have finally put an end to any wrong doings on the Luas from here on in. Well done to the chappie/lassie who came up with that terrifyng poster.
Puca
#caughtrapid – that may catch on and not in the way Luas envisage
ahjayzis
Did they ever give a reason why of all routes, they ran the red line through the roughest they could find?
I mean it was meant for commuters, but they ran it through as many unemployment black spots as possible?
I’ve used both lines in my time and the difference in atmosphere on each is just unreal.
Paolo
Yes, they should limit public transport to leafy suburbs.

Totally agree.
Caroline
It certainly was a missed opportunity to skirt around the city’s problems physically, in addition to the more traditional metaphorically.
Mr. T.
The hashtag clearly targets a certain section of society.
Jones
Taken from a height so Ranelagh? Or Charlemont? Obviously Veolia are getting their prep for the line linkage done early.
Boba Fettucine
Either “Orwell-inspired” or “Orwellian”. Not “Orwellian-inspired”.
Thank you.
Mr. T.
Never read the Irish Independent. It will kill you.
Gock:
I was going to be the grammar nazi to say that but decided against it. You’re still right though.
It’s also odd that they have 24/7 CCTV but don’t seem to have anyone to actually deal with any trouble on the Luas.
What about the burly security lads?
Always like seeing them. They scare off the junkies.
Nothing scares the junkies.
Apart from life.
Apart from responsibilities
Apart from the lads they have to deal with any trouble on the luas.
Look before you leap bob.
The useless lads who never seem to be there when the scum bags are causing trouble.
Stupid scumbags only causing trouble when there’s no security around.
I can’t believe they don’t have 24/7 security on every train so that we can complain about charges and orwellian police states
What’s orwellian about it, bro?
Browellian.
I like to keep my Bro Wellies in tiptop shape for when Oxegen finally makes a comeback
Bro Wellies are the browellian tools of a bropressive state. A bro Wellie stamping on a bro face forever.
Bro’brien quote FTW!
