In fairness to this chap, BS really are ridiculously tight on the swear word censorship. Have you guys got some massive advertising deal in the works or something?

You can libel people all you want, but de swearin’ is a bridge too far
MoyestWithExcitement
You can on your hoop libel people here. I just wrote that some chap who had something posted here was connected to me on Linkedin and I didn’t know how and that was taken down.

why is it ok to be completely racist against the religious?
MoyestWithExcitement
Well, *assuming* it is, you’re not validating a narrative that is helping to persecute and oppress a minority group by taking the pish out of Christians.
Stewart Curry
What race do you feel is getting a hard time here?
ahjayzis
Nobody mentioned race or ethnicity?
Just the primitive beliefs devoid of evidence, soaked in barbaric superstition supposed grown-ups continue to have.
If I can mock someone who thinks Fianna Fail is a good bet for governance, I can definitely mock someone who thinks virgin birth, resurrection and a sky-fairy with full CCTV coverage of my life are possible ;o)
MoyestWithExcitement
Aye. Accidents of birth are off limits. Conscious choices to believe nonsense are not.
Islam? I refer you to my previous answer about not adding to narratives that help to persecute and/or oppress minorities. It’s perfectly fine to take the pish out of Muslims in a Muslim country. In the west, where they are constantly vilified and spoken about as if they are a disease, it’s not so fine, at least in public. Think about how Irish people in England must have felt when the IRA was blowing the crap out of the place in the 70s.
ahjayzis
Ooooh look, another Fox News persecution-complex trope. Wah wah, you’re picking on my medieval superstitions.
Here goes; horses don’t fly, the night flight didn’t happen, it’s a total forgery of a religion, the Mormonism of it’s day, it’s a repurposing of Judaism for Arabs, in the same way Christianity re purposed an Judaism, which is by definition an ‘exclusive’ religion, for the gentiles. The virus mutated into a more spreadable form.
They were as envious of the ‘chosen people’ story, everyone wants to be a chosen person – so they plagiarised from knowledge gained from a Jewish settlement near Medina in the 7th century and the Quran is just as sand-addled a pile of conflicting antiquated rubbish as the Bible.
Happy?

source please
ahjayzis
Source for which? The aerodynamics of horses? The impossibility of flying from Mecca to Jerusalem in a single night 1400 years ago? The fact that Medina was a Jewish city that just so happened to give birth to an Arab-friendly variant of that Abrahamic religion?
Banu Qurayza was the name of the tribe, one of many Jewish diaspora communities in Arabia who had fled conflict in Roman Iudaea, have an auld google.
Because most religions in practice or by belief are ‘racist’ or at least have notions of being ‘the chosen ones’ and thus place themselves above and ‘better’ than the non-believers and that if you’re not with them, you will be condemned to hell as some sort of scumbag. And all of them wear this ‘racism’ like a badge of honour in a club that as a non-believer you are not entitled to be in and will not be allowed into.
So, basically deluded arrogance and notions of superiority. That’s why.
ahjayzis
And the nerve of that typically whiney victimy question when ‘godless’ children are being classed as ‘category 2’ kids in publically funded schools in this country because they didn’t get the magic water thrown over their heads.

What’s the deal with people putting full stops between every word? It tends to be those… less familiar… with the written word that do it so is it something that people are taught to do in adult literacy courses or something?
MoyestWithExcitement
“It tends to be those… less familiar… with the written word that do it”
No…it doesn’t. Quite the opposite in fact.
edalicious
I’m not sure what you’re getting at there.
I’m.talking.about.when.people.write.like.this. Like yer man did on the van. Not using ellipses like you and I did, above.
MoyestWithExcitement
So did the chap you were responding to so you can see where my confusion came from. Anyway, my response is the same. People who do it don’t ‘tend to be “less familiar” with the written word’. They are probably more familiar with it as they recognise the importance of tone.
edalicious
Somewhat ironically, I still haven’t got a fupping clue what you’re going on about. I didn’t respond to anyone. I’m specifically asking about the situation on the van above and you often see it on signs written by homeless people too, where they separate out each word with full stops. What the fupp has that got to do with tone?!
MoyestWithExcitement
Because, generally, when.people.type.like.that, they are putting emphasis on each word. For instance, ‘This is great’ could be said in a casual tone. It’s up to the reader to guess but ‘This. Is. Great’ implies a highly excited tone and that whatever ‘this’ is, is very significant.

Would you say it about Islam though?
Islam would fall under most of those descriptions
