Shinners use *everything* to take victimhood. You’d swear they’re the real victims of the Troubles.

I really really can’t understand how labour pay some 100k to come up with an idea like this. Stupidity all round. It’s absolutely breathtaking how stupid a move this is

Doesn’t this just mean both houses of parliament have former british terrorists in them !

    Ah Irish politics

partial democracy….who got to vote? We’re over a year on from the vote to get rid of the place and that reform they spoke of….. waste of space, time and money.

Get in line. We’re over 40 years from the referendum to expand the right to vote in Seanad elections.

Cynical and opportunistic move by Labour..
They are using her as a weapon against Sinn Fein.. everyone can see that.
I have no affiliation to any party but this kind of derisive politics is what has the country in the state its in…
Stinks of desperation on Labour’s part, and Cahill is taking victim-hood to a whole other level here with this appointment, and Labour are giving her the platform to display it… I find the whole escapade is quite disturbing..

what level of expertise does she bring as a senator?

actually….. when you see Fidelma there I think I have answered my own question!

Fail to understand how she posseses the qualities to make her a suitable choice to be a senator. Have voted Labour for many years but wont be voting for them this time. I am running out of choices definitely no shinner, no Fianna Fail and now no Labour candidate getting my vote.
