If Joan ever answers a question in the Dail without referring to the Troubles/IRA/Sinn Fein and the generally Whataboutery of everyone else it’ll be a red letter day.

      1. Anomanomanom

That’s the problem, when they speak how everyone else would in similar situations we moan, when they speak in politic-ees we moan. BS has being going down hill for a while and it’s “news” like this that’s the reason.

      2. Medium Sized C

        I prefer the classless way.
The more “class” these people use the less “sense” they make.

      3. Vote Rep #1

Well maybe Barry Cowen should have showed a bit of class and not talked tried to talk/shout over her while she spoke?

its a pig circus in there. they needed bother showing up, nothing comes of it, it’s just one big long slander sesh. the house of clowns.

The reaction to this is exactly what the writer from the times was talking about yesterday.

Without any context whatsoever (was it a joke? Did she smile? Did she shout? We don’t know) to a pretty throwaway remark that most people would make, all of a sudden its VOTE THESE ELITIST INCOMPETANTS OUT

The Irish Times article ends with a beauty:
“If you want an answer you’ll just have to shut up for a while and listen.”

Leas Cheann Comhairle Micheál Kitt then ruled that the Tánaiste’s time for answering the question was up.

(Not meaning to be a dick rotide but I did get a chuckle out of you misspelling incomeptents.)

  3. Mr. T.

5 more years of this arrogant little bunch of sneering egotists will damage the country for generations.

They are deeply divisive and pernicious liars. They only represent a very small minority of interests at the expense of the long term viability of the state.

    They are subversives.

I’m a young buck starting out with a sh*t salary. Things could be better, But I must say I’m delighted with the recent decisions re rent increases. Also, economically, things are really starting to take off. Will most likely vote FG again.

I’ve been extremely critical of this bunch in the past, so please, no accusations of being young FG or something to that effect.

      1. Neilo

*whispers @jungleman* Is this some kind of art thing you’ve got going on – a truth within a lie within a truth, Inception-kinda dealio? No snark intended by the way: it just goes against everything I expect to read on Broadsheet.

        1. sǝɯǝɯʇɐpɐq

Neilo, you are bang on the nail-o.
a truth within a lie within a truth.

I couldn’t have put it better myself.

    2. sǝɯǝɯʇɐpɐq

      @ Mr. T;

Thinly-cloaked capitalists, disguised as democrats, obfuscating every issue as the fault of someone else…pretending they’re the ones to fix it and only making it worse in the process.

      FF/FG?
      -Who am I talking about?
      Try to pick only one.
      Try.

  4. Truth in the News

Irrespective of the brother, Barry Cowen is an impressive speaker and is not
to be told “shut up” by all people the Deputy Head of Government, it now looks
that Joan has become as arrogant and as desperate as Fianna Fail were in their
    last days in Government.

      1. sǝɯǝɯʇɐpɐq

*(contradictory at face value, redundant in reflection and difficult to ascertain,)

        Maybe it’s just me.

        1. sǝɯǝɯʇɐpɐq

We need Barry Cowen like we need a new Fianna Fail.
          Only Fianna Fail think so.

Things are bad enough already for those of us who don’t own pubs.
          Take a hike.
