Very sad, bad week for the arts.

Robert Black?
A sad loss. Who remembers his memorable “ropegate” opening night at the Abbey in 2010 when a small area was deemed a VIP area by a string of rope barriers?
What a great actor and narrator. RIP.

He had some smooth moves there alright, dancing away with Charlene Spiteri in the wee hours.
Good actor for serious and comic roles.
Irish Twitter is in grief meltdown again.
I met him in 2010.
I think I slept with him in the late 80s.
He was a lovely fella.
My dog is called Gruber.
Die Hard will always be the best Christmas movie.
He was an awful actor and I’m not afraid to speak out.
And so on.
I loved that film Snow Cake.
RIP. Far too young to die.

What a guy a true thespian, one of the greats when it comes to movie roles and truly a powerful and commanding presence in the theatre, I got to see him in theatre in 2011 as John Gabriel Borkman, he was a magnificent performer, I really hoped I’d get to see him on stage again.
Even after all this time?
