Captain America Civil War

What you may need to know:

1. SHIELD is in a state of crisis after failing to elect a Taoiseach. Life/art etc.

2. Here’s the first look at the new Spider-Man (Tom Holland). He’s 12 now. And his eyes move. Compelling stuff.

3. Sony/Marvel’s reboot of the reboot of Spider-Man (The Adequate Spider-Man? The Acceptable Spider-Man?) will arrive in 2017. Jon Watts is today’s director.

4. Holland is signed up for three movies. Don’t get too comfy in those tights, Tom.

5. Broadsheet prognosis: With great power comes crappy CGI.

Release Date:  April 29.

2 superheros fighting each other? What have we run out of bad guys to tackle? This is Mickey Mousery and Donald Duckery at it’s finest probably to appeal to the tweens.

Superheroes fighting each other has been a staple of the genre for decades. Like back to the original Avengers comics in the 60s, if not earlier.

if they get many more ‘above the line’ actors into the cast, they’ll need to start designing posters in Landscape format…

    Screw Spidey. Go Ant_Man!

The main reason I used to read DC rather than Marvel was that Marvel seemed to drop someone else into the story on almost every page and expected the reader to just know the soap opera like connections between all 27 costumed characters. With this film there’s only about 8 films that need to have been watched to know what’s going on.

I don’t even know if I saw the last one. They are fighting? Why? Should I care? It’s as muddled as a transformers movie. I liked Antman. It seemed slower and friendlier. These seem to have huge flying ships, fellas with black hair who are bad? For a reason. I lost interest after ironman 3? 4?

I’m waiting for the reboot where they are younger or older or from another dimension…
