Stand Up Paddling this Summer?

Oh go on then.

Stephen at Wicklow SUP Club writes:

Brand spanking new club Wicklow SUP Club is opening its doors (hidden metaphor in that our door is the door to the outside world, i.e we don’t have premises!) and looking for new members.

Roof rack-style based in the Blessington Lakes, you’ll need your own equipment to take part. But as the club grows so will the funding and we will eventually be able to afford equipment and have regular sessions for those that don’t have their own equipment.

Get involved, there will be beer and maybe ice cream

Me and me mates used to do exactly this back in the 70s when we were supposed to be at school.
-Of course we didn’t have any equipment either, or ice-cream. We had beer though. Two cans of Harp between five of us. We never went near the water though. That would’ve been silly.

Best of luck to these new lads.

[TIP: If a bloke with a stick and a brown dog says he’s going to call your teacher, don’t mind him. He doesn’t even know what school you go to. Think about it. How could he?]

    “Roof rack-style”

That’s what it’s all about. Driving around with a sporty looking roof rack.

Heh. Seaside tan, boards on the roof, curly tangled blonde hair, sporty watch and shades, what a wan…oh wait that’s me. Except for the watch and shades – style over function in that regard.

Could I bring my punt and my manservant to do the standing up bit, while I deal with my hamper of Pimms?
