We’re kicking off a new weekly Genealogy and Family Tree night at the Franciscan Well Brewpub in Cork. Hosted by one of Cork’s most prominent historians and genealogists Dr. Paul MacCotter, the free event is a light, fun and enjoyable introduction to exploring your Family Tree.

The idea is to provide a basis for locals and tourists to kick off research into their family history and have a tasty beer or two while they do.

I traced my own family history thanks to the late 19th and early 20th century census’ being digitized and put up online. It was an amazing experience I must say. I found out a lot. It’s well worth a look in. You just need a name and a rough location to start searching.

          Cool!
I did a bit of a family tree with my nana going back a few generations, for an assignment for school when I was about 12. Was always sorry I never held onto that copy book..

important and proud / unimportant and doesn’t define who you are. depending on what type of closet skeletons are uncovered or how recent the cousin marrying ended.
