Hipsters call this ‘foraging’ as if they’ve invented something new.

Everyone else calls it picking mushrooms, berries, wild garlic, fruit, etc.

Do you just call everyone that has an interest in anything that you’re not familiar with a hipster?

Yes usually. Anything that makes me feel old and uncool.

But not in this case. I go picking wild berries every year.

Why would they? Is nothing more than a crossroads in the middle of nowhere. I’m from Limerick and I never heard of it until a friend got married out there.

It’s enjoying a bit of moment, what with the walking tours and the lodges and the wholesome foresty stuff.

          I love it.

Careful with the mushrooms, guys; the author of “The Horse Whisperer” got it wrong, nearly killed him & his wife. They spent a long while on dialysis awaiting kidney transplants.

It is NOT literally gold. It’s literally a mushroom. It’s figuratively gold, if anything. It’s bad enough to overuse a word but to overuse the wrong word is maddening.
