Trying to divide & conquer on the corrupt Irish water scam. If it’s not some tipp con man nor it’s a cork snivelling snake now. So transparent these parasites…

Jim Daly just commited political suicide with that outburst. What a scumbag.
If people just hold firm and refuse to pay, last year the courts had already said they couldn’t cope with individual atachment orders.

Disobedience!! Lack of deference to these beggars on horseback?!? They just can’t handle ‘de peepil’ not meekly doing what they are told, by their betters. Quite a few have now shown their hand, Cowen, the gobdaw under discussion and a couple more. They are so affronted they seek to punish those who would defy them. Truly pathetic.

“good Republican”? why the need for irony or are you quoting from some dissident republican literature?!
Personally, I find taking pleasure in a cold-blooded shooting on a public street in Cork in the middle of the afternoon a bit twisted, no matter what the character of the person who died is. But that’s just my view

Jesus wept. What next? Are going to have a go at me for not caring about the homeless because I didn’t specifically mention them in my comment too?

Hope the BBC stand up to poor Harry Webb and drag him into court; he’s got lots of skeletons in that deep closet of his

Meanwhile, Fianna Fail at 30% in the polls.

Just goes to show that there are 30% of the electorate who are habitually stupid or….in on the scam.

I will never forgive or forget the legacy of destruction that party inflicted on this country, especially during the Ahern / Cowan era…

But then I remember Haughey era too.

Can someone please explain to me the FF popularity? In small words so I can understand it.
We are still recovering from their devastation caused by their time in government.
The last 8 years have been horrible trying to find ways out of it.

I honestly thought that at least, people were more civically engaged so that there would be some consideration given to the type of country we want to be – and people want FF again.

Is its the 50-60 somethings that largely escaped the worst of it?

Irish people are too lenient by nature. It has made us easy targets throughout history for being conquered and oppressed. People get complacent a few years after a major crisis when they are back to their comfort levels.
Having said that I think the doctrine of Irish politics is to keep EVERYTHING expensive with regards to cost of living, and the population will run around working as many hours as possible just to pay off the bills and exist, therefore making them too tired to keep up on their politics and recent history to care. Can peoples memories really be this bad with regards to 2008 and how Fianna Fail destroyed the country? Or are they just exhausted and resigned to “ah sure, they’re not that bad”.
      Yes they fupping well Are!

Because the public are perfectly willing to be bought off by FF promising to scrap the token water charges, even though it’s a small sum compared to what FF cost them through the recession.

      1. DubLoony

A water charge bill of €40 a quarter is felt more than mass emigration, €200bn national debt, high unemployment & housing problem. That, bizarrely, makes sense.
