It’s done so quickly – where’s the billable hours? You wouldn’t get away with this in Kerry.
They pave roads with that tar and chip method in Kerry all the time. Unlike Australia, Kerry gets cold weather and plenty of rain, this results in freezing water fracturing the surface, making it unsuitable.
I doubt they actually stick a thin surface of tar on a dirt track in Kerry. Those “roads” are only necessary due to vast distances in the middle of nowhere in Oz. The quality is rubbish. Civil engineers are weeping at the sight.
