Not “our own” – did you not read the above, he’s English!

(if your born in mainland Britain to Irish parents, and aren’t good at football/acting/whatever, you are “English”)

      1. And Social Justice For All

Yeah there is him,Hook, Ruth Dudley Edwards, that O’Doherty fella and then you have Breda O’Brien, Quinn, John Waters and various loons on talk radio, and not forgetting of course our own Clampers in Broadsheet

        1. Rob_G

Most of people’s views have very little in common other than being people that you disagree with.

          1. And Social Justice For All

You don’t get how clever they are clearly Rob. They make you think they’re all different when in fact they are all earlier pre update versions of Katie Hopkins and evolutions from Paxman with cheaper components

        2. Paddy obrien

And you can add me to that list. I used to be leftist but mine eyes have been opened very wide in recent times. It’s time to reclaim our country

  1. newsjustin

Yeah, with the Traveller ethnicity thing now, we’ve lost 40,000 more of our own.

  2. lolly

Hook is getting worse also. every time I listen he is praising Donald Trump. today he claimed that Trump has lots more experience than Barack Obama did when he became president. experience of life maybe given that he is 20 years older, but otherwise it was a bizarre claim. I’ve had to turn him off a number of times in the past 2 months as I could feel my anger welling up – I managed less than 2 minutes today.

    1. Junkface

I agree, he’s worse than ever, also he only brings on that US shock jock to rile up the listeners, and get some texts sent in (30c per text) you know the guy, totally obnoxious! His catchphrase is Euroweinies. I HATE THAT GUY!

          1. And Social Justice For All

No. Not each to their own Boj. This is the Internet. It is my duty to flame you now.

Michael Graham. I’m wary of the opinions (genuinely) of anybody who had their 3rd level education in an institution with a religious ethos. No matter *what* the religion.

    2. And Social Justice For All

I’m surprised anyone even considers him any more. I listened to Shane Coleman a bit this week- far better than that idiot Ivan Yates while Chris and that lady on Monday was a real step up from Hook, who is an irrelevance

      1. Boj

I’d have more time for Michael Graham than Shane Coleman, now there’s a bull poo Picasso of the highest order.

    3. km

He pretty much denied the theory of evolution one Friday evening. I haven’t listened to him since.

    4. Anne

He’s a similar personality to Trump..slightly bonkers and thick as fupp..a perve and a bully too. You can see why he’d admire him.

    5. Paddy obrien

Lolly. You had to turn hook off? That’s a dead giveaway. I bet you are a snowflake who cannot tolerate another persons point of view. You run out of the room or try to shout another down whome you disagree with. I pity you snowflakes as you try to make your way in what you will find will be be a very difficult world

  3. Junkface

Ireland has had waves of immigrants, conquerers and new blood for thousands of years! There’s no such thing as 100% Irish, we’re all a mix of Celts, Normans, Vikings etc….Do a Geneaology test, its interesting.

Kevin Myers is concerned only when the immigrants have different coloured skin.

    1. Vote Rep #1

WRONG! As Barry John, in his email to Úna-Minh, quite correctly stated: Irish people are a genetically unique and distinct people. It is a fact. Barry said so. To say otherwise is genocide. Possibly.

      1. Junkface

Ha ha! Barry hides in his bunker every night when the sun goes down. “Will it ever come back?!! We’re doomed!”

    2. David Barnwell

That’s a lie. He has often urged a critique of migration to Ireland by Eastern Europeans.

    3. Spaghetti Hoop

I think Myers main concern here is to make a headline. This is not the first time he has arched fanatically onto a controversial topic when one has been mooted. He likes to get in there at the beginning and stir.

          1. Stumpy

However flawed the process, you do your hosts a disservice by describing the upcoming Kenyan elections like that.

  4. The Real Chris

The whities are being gently browned, like a good slow roast. Get over it people it’s good for us our genome is already severely limited due to past near extinction events all humans are all too closely related, a cocktail mix race is all the hope we have.

      1. realPolithicks

Which frankly it seemed we were heading towards, but there has been a quite a backlash over the past few years.

And hey, you were wondering what I looked like a couple of weeks ago.
I took this photo for your boyfriend berties liqorice allsortsofnonsense the other day.
My first and only ever selfie.
I’ve only posted it here three times so far.
Here it is again in case you missed it.

          T-Shirts are €10 for Men / €12 for Women.*

*No reason. They’re actually the same T-Shirts, but the price-sticker is pink.

Hang on… We have some new ones just arriving now…
OMG… They’re the Gay ones that everybody has been waiting for… Only €14. Come with two pink stickers.

          I’m going to faint…

    1. And Social Justice For All

Stay over there and whine about not getting your car taxed when you get back

      1. Vote Rep #1

Moncrieff is great. Newstalk is fine. They have a few rubbish presenters which, added to the fact that is run by DOB, makes it easy to slate the whole radio station.

LBC Ireland ffs. LBC employ Farage and Katie Hopkins. Newstalk have nothing like that. A few slightly grumpy presenters and that drunk old guy in the corner in Hook. Hysterical rubbish.

    2. sǝɯǝɯʇɐpɐq

      I remember LBC Gums.
Came in a see-through cellophane wrapper. They were black, the shape of a brick, but smaller. And much softer… They were great…

No wait, I’m thinking of LLC Gums.
      – What the Hell are you going on about? There’s no such thing as LBC Gums.

Get out of here you eejit, and don’t come back without at least a Wikipedia link next time.
…making me think about LLC Gums when you can’t even buy them anymore.
      That was really nasty.

Europe went to pot when it stood by and did nothing about Homo Sapiens interbreeding with the Neanderthals. This* has been on the cards for 40,000 years.

*I’m not sure what ‘this’ is.

    1. realPolithicks

First they came for the Neanderthals, and I did not speak out
Because I was not a Neanderthal.

      1. sǝɯǝɯʇɐpɐq

I had an original Neanderthal GameBoy.

I used to play Triceroclitris on it. I wasn’t very good.
Other people found it a bit too easy. It was very hard for me, I swear. I used to be up all night trying to give the Princess the filling for her sponge, but she’d always fall asleep before I got there.
        I never stopped trying though.

I might just whip it out now for a quick blast.

  6. missred

George Hook only seems to like interviewing property developers, rugby players or women he can dribble over. Now shock jocks have been added to the list. Urgh.

      1. And Social Justice For All

It’s funny. My ex said the same and I could not really figure out why. Now that I’m two years old however I am starting to get it

  7. Boj

I was only reading about Richard von Coudenhove-Kalergi yesterday!
Interesting and unnerving at the same time.

  8. km

I am reminded of the racist assault on Una Minh Kavanagh on twitter during the week.

Kevin Myers is Irish, he might be the most British Irishman but he is Irish.

Because of the state of this country, we have very little information/statistics on the benefits of immigration to the country, ergo it is easy to make up any old poo about it.

If this country is to change in this apocalyptic fashion, it will not be because of the poor souls fleeing war. It will be because of Californication or Anglicization of our culture. We know this to be true, after hundreds of years of rule from Britain.

  9. Kolmo

Myers reminds us that whilst everyone has an opinion – not all opinions are valid. He screamed and roared when the IRA ceased in the North, he dismissed any attempt at a peace process as cowadice and capitulation, it was almost as if his own actual annual massively bloated security budget was going to be reduced as a result of peace breaking out..
His views on a lot of things are sometimes witty, but they are the views of a man wishing he ran a large manor house in the 1890’s.

  10. nellyb

We can do a few things all right – outlaw emigration for Irish under 30 – stop issuing them with passports and introduce outbound flight border control. We can build a coastal wall around republic to stop illegal departures. It’ll keep us safe from floods too – win-win!
