Former Spice Girl Melanie C will discuss the changing face of the music business, the lasting legacy of Girl Power and the pressures of life in the public eye.
Aine Lawlor, will drop by this Saturday night. She will chat to Ray about highlights from her distinguished career in journalism, what she likes to do in her downtime and how cancer has never left her life.

This just makes me sad.
Aw, sad-spice!
Aine Lawlor (RTE) interviewed by Ray D’Arcy (RTE). Who cares?
was more of a dire straits fellow myself
Spice Girls were brilliant, even if they were only around briefly
Really? Do tell us more about this brilliance oh wise one.
I’m not here to educate you pet, half an hour on Spotify and you’ll be wearing a Union Jack dress to work in the morning.
They were derivitive crap to those wise enough to know, but to those with little wisdom they might have actually sounded new. They weren’t though.
ha
what exactly is a ‘zig-a-zig-ahh’?
BJ.
That photo of Mel C is nearly a quarter of a century old.
Thanks
The DG would have you know that the licence fee would be good value at twice the current cost.
Clearly, we need to respect our “betters”
Did she want double the price to maintain the output or improve it?
Judge for yourself

Improve it?? Surely you jest.
Surprised there is no interview with RTE’s Baby Spice Miriam O,Callaghan
old spice
scary spice
Haha zing……
Oohh, “sourcing”.
You mean looking for stuff, or actually finding it?
Ray D’Arcy was a decent straight man when Zig,Zag and Dustin were bouncing jokes off him. Someone at RTE must have assumed he was funny, charming, entertaining or intelligent and that he’d make a great chat show host. Obviously they never watched The Den. But Ray hasn’t got any of that. It’s painful to listen to him on the radio. TV isn’t going to be much better. I can only cringe so much in one week in Ireland. I usually avoid RTE altogether.
You have hit the nail on the head. He got lucky on the den with the lads. In fairness he is not helped by the rubbish they get on the show. Brendan O Connor was much better on that slot
Brendan O’Connor is MUCH better now he’s not a jerkwad around town with Barry Egan. He was always smart and funny, but the funny was mean and he was immensely arrogant. Life has thrown a few curveballs at him and he’s much the better for it.
