Good for them! Though Cork Street is really the least of our worries. They should head on over to the South Circular or Clanbrassil Street.

In fairness, that stretch of road is a mile wide across so people parking on the lane isn’t exactly the end of the world for cyclists and everyone including the lazy guards know it. I can only imagine the moral high ground lecture that cop is giving that guy who was just grabbing his milk and probably has been without incident for years until today. If the fuzz are going to crack down on this kind of thing, fine, but we all know they are going to camp on this road like cowards, knocking out fines while happily ignoring hundreds of tight spots around Dublin where cars park in cycling lanes where there is a real dangers to cyclists. Kimmage Road Lower for one glaring example. Where a car hit a parked car on a cycle lane and flipped over on its hood one morning a few months ago. https://www.joe.ie/news/watch-scary-footage-shows-car-flipping-collision-dublin-590254 the guards do not enforce illegal parking of that road ever.

No, this is the most baffling kind of illegal parking – what with the large, free underground car-park that lidl has.

This! I live around here and it is so unnecessary when there is an underground car park these lazy people cannot be bothered to use.

I saw a cyclist getting a ticket. I happened to be stopped at the lights and chaos outside Trinity. It was a joy to watch.

And I’m no innocent neither, I run a few sometimes…. but heavy footfall spots.. tsk. Look at me maintainin’ a double standard :)
Got pulled over myself for running a light up on Thomas Street, where the lights are a good 30 ft before the left turn by Arthur’s Bar. I ran the lights for 20ft, stopping the remainder shy of the turn. A Garda pulled up beside me..
“You ran a light…” said he half askin’.
“Force of habit….” said I before I knew what I was saying.
His face said it all… stunned at the answer… funny now tho :)

    No filter sometimes.
