How exactly is that a “typo”? You put the word “card” in for some silly reason so don’t blame this error on typos…

A kind man lives on my mothers road who used to work on these Lancia rally cars in his driveway during the 80’s. There were some amazing cars over the years. (I particularily remember a Toyota Celica with the full Castrol GT wrap) He was a widower and his kids were all grown up and over-seas at the time but he loved the banter with the other children on the road. We used to scour the road for any nuts and bolts we’d find to give to him thinking they were from a recent car he was working on. As a reward, we would get a custard cream or if we were lucky a bourbon! His health deteriorated over the years but his kindness did not. Last Saturday I arrived at my mothers house with my own 2 younglings to be greeted by ‘Santa’ in full costume ringing a bell walking up the road to us. He was welcomed into my mothers house and sat each of my kids on his lap, sang some carols and told a story about some sick children he would be visiting next. He gave a small present to each of my children and went on his merry way. Now I’m not the most sentimental of persons but even I felt it was a beautiful moment. Unfortunately today my mother called me to tell me he had died this morning. It has actually hit us hard, but I felt by telling this story it would at least be a tip o’the cap in his memory. RIP Jim, I’d say you would’ve loved to tinker with the car above ;-)
