Charger are you looking forward to the next referendum?
Charlie
He can’t hear you. He’s at chest beating classes.
Charger Salmons
I’d say there is more chance of Jarry admitting he was in the IRA than there is of a 2nd referendum.

Good news on NCT style test for rental properties. Hopefully it is adhered to.
scottser
they already have environmental health officer’s reports on rented properties. these are mandatory if the state is going to pay a rental subsidy such as HAP or RAS on the property. What will be different about this ‘NCT’? Somehow I reckon it’ll be toothless and unenforceable.
Taunton
The cost will be passed onto the tennant, it will push rents up.
Happy Bertie Jesus
That’s unfair, he was a brilliant Doctor Who.
Charger Salmons
Poor old Simon Coveney.
He still hasn’t come to terms with the fact that now the Irish border issue has been fudged thanks to some nimble political footwork by Arlene Foster and pressure from the EU Ireland’s influence in Europe is now back to the level of Malta.
The moment in the sun has been and gone.
His comments will attract zero attention outside Ireland and a fair degree of laughter inside.
Charlie
Imho, as long as we’re part of Europe we’ll be in the sun #proudeuropean Today’s Nationalists are tomorrow’s terrorists.
Charger Salmons
Yup.
Europe will look after you alright.
What sort of timeframe do you give for Ireland being able to pay back the €44BILLION it owes for bailing out the bondholders ?
Charlie
Europe has already looked after us. We have benefited to an immeasurable degree since embracing it.
Charger Salmons
‘Course it has.
But what a price Ireland has paid in one hundred years of moving the short distance from Britannia’s teat to Frau Merkel’s lap.
Charlie
And lovin’ it !
scottser
just as saudi arabia will no doubt continue to look after the uk after brexit. the brits make such cool shells, perfect for airstrikes on yemeni civilians, eh charger?
scottser
whatever about ours, your government doesn’t know what it’s doing.
Charger Salmons
Can you name a single piece of legislation that has been passed since Leo Varadkar became Taoiseach over six months ago ?
Charlie
Who gives a Fupp. Is that how you measure political success you boo boo?
Charger Salmons
Isn’t that what governments are for ?
To improve the lives of their voters through legislation ?
Otherwise what’s the point in having elections and parliaments ?
I take it you belong to the Sheeple Party, the political wing of the Catholic Church.
Numpty branch.
Charlie
I belong to no church or political party. Loyalty to a political party can often be akin to the religious fanatic. The parallels between the condition and the sectarianism is just a short walk from violence or terrorism. Find yourself a life old chap.
scottser
um, the finance bill 2017?
anyway, you seem to think that the electorate voted for varadkar, or that we had a hand in his choosing. be under no illusions, he’ll be gone in next year’s election with a nice hefty pension for the next 50 years.

Facebook risks sanctions over Russia inquiry.
I very much doubt if this British committee would be demanding information on Russian interference in the Brexit referendum if they didn’t think there was due cause.
This will be a very interesting chapter in history once the truth is out. If it ever comes out of course. Look how long it is taking in NI.
Incredible.
Simon Coveney proudly announces 779,000 Irish passports were issued in 2017.
Imagine if only 10% of those people decided to take up their right and move to Ireland in 2018.
80,000 new citizens.Where would they live, where would their kids go to school, what would they do for a living ?
Unbelievable.
