A Crying Chair whistleblower service.
Finally.

Slumleaks is the work of a collective of people suffering the effects of the housing crisis in Dublin and Ireland…

Lets make 2018 an uncomfortable year for slumlords. Get in touch if you’ve got a slumlord.

Now, where can I go if I’ve got a renter who destroys my property and costs me thousands?
Oh yes. Nowhere.
Insurance company.
Yes.
It’s that simple.
Thanks.
Clearly you should be able to extract a blood price or take one of their offspring as a slave.
at a bare minimum
Mmm hmm and will the insurance company tell the next landlord about the tenants history?
no. but you can search through the rtb website for all dispute resolutions. you can search by name and/or address. So before you take a tenant[1], have a look there to see if they have history.

[1] or if you’re renting, look for your potential landlord.
Your local fg|ff bum cheek landlord
set up your own blog buddy
It’s ok there Nelly, if you’re a decent landlord you have nothing to be concerned about.
+1
Nowhere until you get off your moany hole and do what these people did and set something up yourself.
The comment seems too obnoxious to be real.
You’re not Bodger looking for rageclicks, are you?
You have a security deposit, insurance and you can take them to court, no?..
Unfortunately you have to factor a random event costing you money and hassle from damage to property but how did it cost you “thousands”?
:-J
Nice idea but I hope these people have checked out the legal implications of what they are doing. One malicious ex tenant wrongly accuses someone and who is liable?
that’s why we have libel laws love
What do libel laws love? Libel, I guess. Or maybe the opposite. Compliments? It’s a good question. I shall ponder it further, internally.
A great idea. A pity our government won’t protect tenants from the ravages of the vulture funds and greedy developers, but then again, blushirts….
Blueshirts ARE the slumlords, vultures and developers.
I remember reading a while ago that more than 25% of TD’s are landlords themselves. That’s at least a partial explanation of this (and other) governments lack of action on the building of social housing.
the only explanation for the sweetheart deals noonan made with the vulture funds is corruption.
Agreed, Noonan in particular is a very shady character.
+ no end in sight
what’s to stop this being used to wrongly accuse a landlord on purpose by bad tenants
Good. The standard of housing for working people in this country is dreadful.
When RTE tackle it they wheel out beard Murphy. Murphy is faced by a panel of ” I have kids where’s my council house brigade”
He is never faced with Middle of the road workers out paying tax and trying to build a middle class life for themselves.
All the while 20 something immigrant couples muddle through by raising Kids in share houses. Modern day tenements. I admire their stoicism.
Quiz, Round One: Which Minster’s father put a rat through the letterbox of a rental property to persuade his tenants to leave?
Eoghan Murphy?
No, wrong gender.
Miss Eoghan Murphy?
or is she married, if so then Mrs.?
:-J
Regina
Mrs Eoghan Regina?
Or is it Ms Regina Eoghan?.
Well never heard of either of them…. are they both new ministers?
:-J
Not mandatory-but-not-compulsory Regina, no.
