        A couple of years back I was at a conference where he was guest speaker. He spoke brilliantly and the audience appeared rapt. The moderator however, who clearly had little knowledge of or interest in Gaelic games, was trying to call time on the speech. Ó Muircheartaigh ignored him and kept going. Undeterred, the moderator told him time was up and to finish. Drolly and to the great amusement of the audience, the Great Man informed the moderator that he was “well known for going the full seventy and that he intended on doing so on this occasion”
