Simply because the labour party elite hate him, and unless they find video’s of him doing things with sheep, he is going to be the next PM
This Jew thinks he is the best labour leader for years as in potential PM

How is it front page news that Facebooks tracks you on other sites, surely that has been obvious for a long time?

The real scandal will be if ever proved that Facebook and Google are/were sharing data between them.

      1. Cian

Why would they need to? They have both managed to convince large portions of the web to embed either ‘google analytics’ or ‘facebook like’ onto all pages.

See just above the comment section – that link to facebook that says “Share to Facebook”? That is facebook tracking you on broadsheet.
And there is also a google analytics embedded on this page. That is Google tracking you on broadsheet.

Look for these on all other sites you visit and let me know who isn’t using them!!

My point is that while they are all gathering data, the sum is worth way more than any individual set. Given that they both have heavy duty surveillance systems in place, I would be very surprised if they do not swap with each other.

What happens if data which could have only come from Google is found in the CA analysis for example?

          1. jusayinlike

SOQ, no laws were broken and the only thing that will come out of this nonsense is needless internet regulation.

          2. Cian

Indeed. But Google and Facebook are competitors. They have very different data. I can’t see either sharing with the other.

          3. rotide

            Share the data?

The data IS their product. It’s like Apple ‘sharing’ their IP with Samsung

          4. SOQ

@ jusayinlike. If Facebook data is confirmed to be within CA then laws were broken.

@Cian Competitors will happily swap data if it is to their mutual benefit. We don’t know about Google as yet but Facebook certainly were flaithiúil with other people’s property rights.

c’mere if I’m not on FaceBuke
doesn’t that mean they know nathin’ bout my whereabouts

      1. Cian

Nope. Facebook know you[1] accessed this page.

[1] you – as in your browser. And if you also visit, say, the Evening Echo, they now know you accessed both this page, and a particular story there. And build up a profile of what pages you visit.

Farewell Big Tom. Blessed are the joyful music makers, for they shall join the choirs of heaven.

Not a fan of the aul Country’n’Irish genre, but I have a lot of respect for the performers who get out there and do the hard graft, gigging a hundred nights a year or more. Big Tom and the Mainliners were old school. RIP.

I often pause on those live shows they broadcast on TG4 as I’m flicking past and, regardless of what you may think of the music itself, the quality of the performance is absolutely top notch. The musicians they have on are all razor sharp; in time, every time and they never miss a note.
