He was fined €15,00
Lowry delighted that Judge Martin Nolan called him “a conscientious taxpayer” in his sentencing remarks.

Is there any Tipperary voters here who have voted for him in the past and, who, after reading that and reading about all the other skullduggery and blackguardism that he is constantly associated with explain to the rest of your fellow citizens why you would vote for him again, why you would use your vote in supporting a criminal, a shyster, a corrupter. Why you would urinate on the memory of those that gave their lives in the pursuit of creating a better society in this country by giving you that vote. The judge thamked lowry for paying the tax bill he got caught not paying. Nolan also made a personalised attack on the revenue official who brought the case to court.
