did you not ask him? would have been the most direct way of getting an answer instead of taking a photo, sending it to the internet and annoying us …..
also does he know you took the photograph and posted it to the internet?

Silent strike. Communication would have been futile, did you not see the steely determination in his eyes?

i know where you’re going with this, hoop – the all-prods-are-godless-porkers thing again

I actually agree with you on this dav; a lot of commenters on this site are often bending over backwards to make every excuse under the sun for people to not work and claim off the state, usually under the auspices of some vague left-wing principles; here is someone who actually works for a living who is striking (for whatever reason, I don’t know the particulars) and they are taking the p|ss out of him.

While I might not know what he is striking for (or even necessarily agree with it), this is much more an embodiment of left-wing principles than ‘people shouldn’t pay for water for x,y,z’; ‘people should be allowed claim scratch for >10 years for z,y,x’.

“a lot of commenters on this site are often bending over backwards to make every excuse under the sun for people to not work and claim off the state, usually under the auspices of some vague left-wing principles;”

What an extravagant claim on your part, can you please provide us with a few examples of this scandalous behavior?

Well, when that Go Fund Me lady who had been claiming scratch for >10 years (one year of which was spent travelling around the world) was on looking for a handout, several of the regulars were defending her decision to pursue 3 or 4 degrees instead of getting a job.

Now, we have an actual worker looking to defend his rights (real or perceived, can’t comment on the ins and outs) and we have some of the same people ripping the p|ss. I think that it is a little bit inconsistent for people who probably consider themselves as leftist defending a middle-class dilettante who lives a life of leisure (courtesy of working people), but guffawing at one of those same workers, who pays for his own way, looking to stand up for himself.

There’s something about his expression in this photo that makes me feel sorry for him. He needs some solidarity. I would not have photographed him like that, it seems intrusive or something. Judging by his expression he was not too fond of having his picture taken. Good for him, standing up for his working rights

My bet is that it’s some Ryanair low fares stunt. Or a hazing.
Could you imagine working in a Ryanair office? I’d say the craic is mighty. :(

Will I go up at lunch and ask? I’m just down the road.

Not sure how I’ll get an answer if he’s silently protesting. Maybe i could get him a Miccie D’s from Airside?

    1. Brother Barnabas

bring a notebook and pen – that’s what i do when people are on a silent protest

    2. Spaghetti Hoop

While you’re out, can you slip into Argos and pick up some gazebo legs? Good man.

    3. Papi

You’re going to bring Mickey D’s to the guy on hunger strike to ask him about the silent protest he’s on? I’d work through lunch, buddy. jk
