IIRC, he expressed an interest in running in 2011, but FF decided not to put up a candidate that year.

and it was a big mistake by FF at the time
he’d have trapped all those old FF Republican voters that turned out for Martin McGuinness
      as well as the locals
and all the Dana crowd – who btw, outpolled the Fine Gael Candidate, Gay Mitchell

Dev Eile’s turnout would have been healthy enough to have lifted FF out’ve the slurry pit where they still linger

I’m telling ye, he is a political operator he knows how to get the vote out
and has a strong active grass root base that is Country Wide
and is the only serious challenger to Miggledy

Agreed Frilly,no one should underestimate him,he’s quite an operator,I certainly don’t agree with all his policies but I have a lot of respect for him.

Noel Rock was flinging his toys from his pram at him over McGrane,Eamon deftly b**ch slapped the naieve, inexperienced Noel, who as usual had his facts wrong. As someone who loathes Noel Rock for inserting himself into a US Presidential race and embarrassing the Irish American community, with his childish antics and wide eyed bright lights, big city, country hick act, I wish Eamon all the best.

          same here
          about respect for him
we’re a million miles apart on the political spectrum
but his behind the scenes work pre- GFA
particularly with Prisoners, and their families,
getting them assistance, welfare, housing, and even the cancer treatment they were denied by the Brits will come back to reward him now

          Telling ye lads
Dev Eile isn’t a fluff candidate looking to get free press
and I’d say that he has a war chest that’s been well fed and foddered for over a decade

          Up Dev
          is back

“Cuiv, Eamon O” as he put his name on the ballot paper so he’d appear near the top.
    Ricockulous.

For a fella from leafy South County Dublin, he has certainly perfected his ‘bogger’ shtick.
