Van Rompuy – the classic takedown.

” Scotland may seek new independence vote ”
Heh,heh, heh – the Sweaties are further away than ever from IndyRef2 with the SNP’s disastrous handling of the Scottish economy and Salmond up to his touchy-feely shenanigans.
The Observer really is scraping the barrel this week – not even room for another loony conspiracy theory from Carol Codswallop.

  2. ReproButina

British Taoiseach wants her starving country to enter a space race after crippling the economy and costing the country’s scientists millions in funding!

It would be hilarious if it wasn’t so tragic.

      Jesus Bertie starving Britain?
      Give it a rest
      You are like king Canute
Be more worked up if our country suffers in the FU UK war waged by the EU
Unlike us the UK. Are not dependent on the EU and Ireland
So bury your head in the sand

      1. ReproButina

Ah david, clueless as ever. The UK are absolutely dependant on the EU which is why they are stockpiling food and medicine for when their own arrogance and mule headed stupidity sees them crash out without a deal.

        @ tommy
I like that ‘FU UK’ bit, but the rest of your comment isn’t funny, especially from your standpoint.
The Brith government wouldn’t be in it’s current turmoil if what you say is true.

It’s within the EU’s interest to make sure that Britain pays the price of Brexit, NOT Ireland.
        This is not stacked Dominoes.
        It isn’t even Chess.
It’s a game of Draughts and Britain has lost most of her counters. She doesn’t know how to move next.
        -She’s stuck in a corner.

Hope that simplifies it enough for you.

        1. The Disbeliever

I think upending the table and starting again is the only sensible option.

Boris, Nigel and Jacob* would disagree with me.
          I’m fine with that.

*the three clowns in this ridiculous circus.

  3. Ollie Cromwell

Crippling the economy ? Starving country ? If that’s the case why aren’t all the Irish returning home ? You know, the ones who left when an economy really was crippled.
You really are an economic numbskull Beret Boy.

    1. ReproButina

The crippled economy and starving population come after Sasamach mushroom boy. Haven’t you been reading your government’s technical papers? Or did you get so distracted by Boris’ tea tray that you forgot all that food stockpiling you’re supposed to be doing?

        1. dylad

I found that one recently too, it’s good. Not so sure if the Pakistani Dalek sketch, albeit funny, has aged too well though.

Come and join us Ollie, before free-travel gets halted.
      We are a welcoming nation.

You might even get used to it.
      You might like it.
You might change your tiny mind.

      We don’t need you.
      You need us.

      @Charger

as ReproButina put it on August 23, 2018 at 7:33 am:

“Poor Ollie. You’re like a dog being taken to be neutered bragging about the great car ride you’re going on”

I tried but I just can’t improve on that (I hope you don’t mind ReproButina)

Moggy says he wants a return to a border like during the troubles. Extraordinary stuff.

The only way that could happen is by a re-militarisation which bins the GFA in its entirety. They are no closer to an agreement on this issue than they were two years ago and just don’t seem to understand that for the most part, on the NI side of the border, THEY are regarded as Johnny Foreigner.

    Maybe so disbeliver
The reality is we know what help is when we faced ruin
    Remember that
Our country is insignificant in the EU because of our size
And in all democracies the majority rules
Also what’s good for the EU might not be good for us
The UK is out and sadly we are dependent To a massive extent with the UK even today
    Our nearest neighbour
If the EU use the UK to set an example of we will not fare well
This country has never severed its ties with the UK
    And its far too deep
For the first time in our history this is going to happen and we will not be in charge of any deal for the future
The EU will and that’s my point

  6. tommy

    SOQ
    you miss the whole point
The UK will be out of Europe and Europe has borders with non EU countries as is all countries in the world
The problem is there is a border like it or not between the republic and northern Ireland
This border will and has to be treated like all international borders
Also WTO set the parameters of trade between nations world wide
Any agreement must comply with international law
I think our leaders do not grasp that fact
When the EU starts any sort of FU UK we will be the ones that suffer, unless our leadership get a special non repayable grant each year to off set the damage
But sadly look at the help we got post bust from the EU
And yes our GFA is in serious danger if any of the stake holding terror groups decide to go back to the bad old days
Sorry for pessimism but this could be and I pray to god this dose not happen
Sadly also our leadership have proven so far to not grasp the nettle

    1. SOQ

I missed the whole point of what exactly? I spent all of my childhood and the first part of my adult life in the border region so enlighten me.

Even an arrogant Thatcherite like Moggy must realise that he cannot pick and choose which parts to the troubles era we should be going back to. The border as it stands is near invisible with the only indication being speed limit signs. ANY attempt to militarise it again will have serious repercussions with a level of support never seen before.

And yet, even on this site, we have eejits with no regard for recent Irish history saying we should trust the English, while they attempt to sneak anti civil rights stop and search powers in by the back door. Says it all really. Some people are nowhere near as intelligent as they think they are.
