The inquest into the death of The Cranberries singer Dolores O’Riordan has taken place.
She would have been 47 today.
BBC reports:
The Cranberries front woman Dolores O’Riordan died in January by drowning due to alcohol intoxication, an inquest at Westminster Coroner’s Court has heard.
The singer, who died suddenly on 15 January aged 46, was found submerged in the bath in her room at the Park Lane Hilton hotel.
O’Riordan died as a result of a “tragic accident”, the coroner said.
The singer had no injuries or evidence of self harm, the inquest was told.

She’s was Fine Gael’s favourite musician, anti-choice, anti-women, spent most of her time in a Catholic Church.

I used to think you were a troll Ina. Maybe you are who knows. You’re undoubtedly a nailed on ladypart though.
I read one antichoice comment attributed to her from Hot Press about 25 years ago and all of a sudden she was co-opted, after her tragic death, by the loveboats . And so what if she was? She held a private view which has nothing to do with her dying far too young.
She used to go around private schools telling young female students what would happen if they ‘murdered’ their babies. At least two of her closest friends were Catholic priests from Limerick who had, and have, awful records when it came to anti-women and anti-gay sentiments.
Being pro life means nothing

But to use that to dam a woman who died shows exactly what sort of horror you are

Going into girls schools and telling lies about what will happen to you if you ‘murder’ your babies is a horrible thing to do. It’s extremely harmful. As is telling young women that being a lesbian is something that can be ‘cured’. Just because somebody died tragically doesn’t mean that you can’t criticize the awful things they did during their life.
No but maybe show a little respect. That’s something everyone is entitled to, regardless of their personal beliefs.

People under stress sometimes resort to alcohol or drugs, but objectively speaking they provide illusory comfort. They only depress further.
I realise it wasn’t the best way to go but I was glad to hear that she didn’t deliberately check out.
