Hobbyist Dave (above) prepares his quite lovely P51 ‘Mustang‘ model aircraft ahead of a flight with the Leinster Model Flying Club on Saturday. The original was flown by Clarence ‘Bud’ Anderson, WW2’s highest scoring flying ace in his squadron.

UK was great then.
Anyone know what is a good time to find these brilliant nutters at their flying?
I know a small gentleman who would be interested.
The website doesn’t say much.
If you google ” Leinster Model Flying Club” and go into their FAQ’s you’ll find loads of info.
Sunday morning 9.30 to 12.30. Flying patch is between Fury Glen and the Popes cross.
You’ll hear the engines.
Highest scoring ace? Not even close! That would be Germany’s Erich Hartmann with a staggering 352 victories. Highest scoring U.S. ace was Major Richard Bong with 40 kills.
Sorry, Macocnnait, that was only in Bud’s squadron. Fixed now. Thanks.
Oh no bother glad to help
