DCLA Reading Room tweetz:
John Wayne, Grafton Street, Dublin, 1972. Movie star and titular subject of a great song by Rocky De Valera & The Rhythm Kings.
Meanwhile…
#OnThisDay in 1911, the name of Great Britain Street was changed to Parnell Street, by Dublin Corporation.
Nowadays Parnell St is a thriving multicultural community!#ThrowbackTuesday pic.twitter.com/6Cq3JghuyU

keep em coming!
That’s a +1 from me.
Maybe show a pic of Parnell street to illustrate the article?
Technically, that is Parnell St we’re looking at, though I get what you mean. For anyone interested, there’s loads of great pics of the area from around the 1974 bombing. They were released as part of the Dublin City Libraries Digital Archive collection last year:

Liking the sound of Throwback Tuesday, more of this please.
That takes me back, albeit nothing to do with Grafton Street:

it should be called Ah here leave it out street..
But that happened on Talbot St? The locals are more likely to speak Mandarin than scanger-ese
same thing realy….
There’s still a Little Britain Street off Capel St mind you….
But that was renamed from Fawlty Towers Street. If all goes to plan it’ll be Mrs. Brown’s Boys Street in time for Brendan O’Carroll to turn on (wahey!) the Christmas lights.
The look on yer mans face with the Duke is brilliant.
Wig envy.
ah Switzers
and when cars drove up and down Grafton Street
