Behold the McLaren Speedtail – the quickest, longest (some say the ugliest, arguably the most distinctive-looking) hypercar the brand has ever produced.

A three-seater, the driver sits centrally with two rear passengers at either shoulder.

1035bhp. 0-300km/h (186mph) in 12.8 seconds. Top speed 402km/h (250mph).

Only 106 will be made and the first will be delivered in 2020.

Yours for €2,000,000. No wait – put your money away – they’ve all been spoken for already

    It looks sleepy and angry, like someone just woke it up early and it’s not happy about it at all

    Did Michael D buy one from his €317,000 annual allowance? Aras to Belfast in 20 mins. It would pay for itself in saved Learjet costs in no time at all. He’d even be able to stick the two dogs in the back seats.

      he’d probably pick up a couple of grand in speeding fines and a driving ban along the way, too

      top speed of 402kmph
      Aras -> Belfast is 165km; = 25 minutes
      (assuming you have a road that would allow such speeds)

      And then there is fuel consumption. The Bugatti Veyron does about 78 L/100 km, so we could expect something similar. at those rates we would need 139L of fuel…. which is more than a tankful… so we need to stop for petrol on the way…. at least once.

    I’m going to come down on the “ugly” side of the argument. It looks like two different cars joined together.
