This is documentary making at its finest. A chilling indictment of the corrupt Brit/RUC collaboration with Loyalist death squads. To think this was going on in a western, supposedly, democratic state is sickening. A regime rotten to its core.

What is worst is that they were pulling the strings on both sides.

The head of the IRA’s ‘punishment’ unit was an agent so God knows how many innocents were disabled or killed there too. From start to finish the whole thing reeked of British meddling. Divide and conquer as it used to be known. The same laws should have applied in NI as the rest of the UK but did not.

Now, Ireland is the male appendage block to Brexit, karma writ large.

I haven’t seen this one but all Alex Gibney docs are top drawer. He’s nailed down the format over the years so you get worthy subject matter bolstered by high production values and they’re all highly enteraining to boot.

Zero Days is my favourite and his Netflix original series Dirty Money are all fantastic.
