Is this not an attempt to imitate the RTE Guide Christmas edition which perenially describes the Queen’s Speech on British TV channels on Christmas day as the queen “lecturing her subjects”. Isn’t the Queen the titular head of the British armed forces, so any deaths are on her!

It was. I’m sure I wasn’t the only one who felt transported to the trenches. The comraderie was really evident in the footage – all the more poignant when the veterans spoke about the grief and loneliness on return after the war. Really great work by Jackson and team.
