The Guardian reports the Commons is to debate the Brexit deal tomorrow, Thursday. Mind you, they’re speculating it will be difficult to get it approved because of the DUP. No mention at all of the “100 Tories” who are on a spectrum between spitting feathers and incandescent.

One Tory minister said of the prospect of the draft Brexit deal or no deal at all, “we’re between the Devil and the deep blue sea”. Don’t remember that on the side of any bus!

What should be of concern to Ireland is how the backstop might be renegotiated. It will involve “committees” on both sides. What role will Ireland play in any committee. Will we have a veto.

The backstop can’t be renegotiated. It can only be replaced with something that both sides are happy with and yes, Ireland have a veto.

Where is that Giggidy fella to tell us Leo got a bad deal, when everyone from the DUP, JRM, The Brexiteers and Mr Barnier say otherwise. Giggidy toss pot.

You just don’t get it do you? This is a draft agreement. It’s not a deal. Varadkars ‘backstop’ that he heiled many months ago doesn’t exist. And May still has to get her proposals through her own house of parliament. The uneducated (like yourself) rely on MSM headlines to form their opinions. Nice colored backdrops, nice podiums again, but have you actually seen the 500 page document? Have you wondered why it’s being kept under wraps? And why would you think Varadkar, who lets the EU do the negotiations, has had any victory?
You might try explain what you mean by the ‘deal’ that you think Varadkar got. If it’s too taxing to do so, I understand.

The backstop you say doesn’t exist is clearly outlined in SOQ’s second link. The only way we end up without one is if they come up with something better or crash out with no deal.

Ohhh dear, the document was published last night. The backstop is in it.

It is somewhat sad, you are quite smart but your judgement is clouded by your hate for Leo, I feel a little sorry for you.

But she is right, if they take her down it is a general election which is effectively handing power to Labour.

Interesting that the front page headlines of 3 Tory papers, the Times, Telegraph, and the normally hardline Express, seem to support May. Do they realise it’s the best deal she’s going to get?

“But he has nothing on!” said the whole people at length. That touched the Emperor, for it seemed to him that they were right; but the thought within himself, “I must go through with the procession.” And so he held himself a little higher, and the chamberlains held on tighter than ever, and carried the train which did not exist at all.

The draft Brexit agreement yesterday is in tatters within 24 hours. Two ministers have now quit (9am, Thurs) including the brexit minister, Dominic Raab.
The Labour party has signalled it won’t support this agreement, “it doesn’t meet our tests” says Keir Starmer, their brexit spokesperson.
In the Tory part of 300-odd, some 100 are expected to vote against it. It looks like the draft agreement will be rejected 400-200 in the House of Commons. The DUP’s 10 are irrelevant
No wonder currency markets have hardly moved in sterling’s favour, at the coal-face where you put your money where your mouth is, they don’t believe it’s a flyer.
Ireland should still be preparing for a no-deal brexit.

Just to be pedantic, the agreement is not in tatters. The agreement is unchanged. The British government is in tatters meaning the agreement is unlikely to pass the British Dáil.

So those Chicken Licken Climate Alarmists now get a veto over infrastructure?

    No science just dogma.

    Such a bunch of frontholes.

Very upset by the Prospect cover illustration. He’s shown stepping with the wrong foot. It should be his left foot that he’s leading with, given that his right arm is leading. Very upsetting.
