Prints of unseen Liberties by Maxi
Ruth Keating writes
Tonight Jam Art Factory are hosting an exhibition in Lucky’s bar on Meath Street, Dublin 8. We will be presenting a new series of work by the super talented illustrator Maxi.
The pieces are all limited edition, giclée prints and are based on the loved and unseen buildings of the Liberties area.
Kicking off from 6.30/7pm with a limited amount of free drinks provided by the good folks at Teelings Whiskey.

“super talented illustrator” bit of a stretch. They’re photographs isolated on coloured backgrounds. They shot them in black and white and colourised them. I suppose that equates to being an illustrator these days!
Also is it ‘Maxi’ as in ‘Maxi, Dick & Twink’ fame??
I would say they were shot in colour, desaturated, had the contrast bumped up to give it that photocopied look, matted to the apropriate shape then colourised and placed on BG colour that complimented the colourisation and at a size that looked good on the agreed format. And yeah, that is a way of illustrating.
nah it’s not maxi
Yes that’s the first Maxi that springs to my mind.
Where’s the bould Twink these days; and didn’t she have a young wan that was a singer or somethin’
I’m sure I heard about that somewhere!
Chloe Agnew. She is (was?) one of the Celtic Wotsits. Like the Tenors cept they’re Laydeez. Our American brethren lap that crap up. It’s all terribly pleasant and saccharine.
celtic woman
interestingly, she can sing in several languages – including sign language [true fact]
I don’t like to boast (heeeeh heh heh heh) but I can sing along with Mr Tumble using Makaton.
