€21million For ‘Unacceptable Harm’

at

Mark Paul, in The Irish Times, reports:

The Central Bank of Ireland has fined Permanent TSB €21 million for the “unacceptable harm” it caused certain tracker mortgage customers, including some who lost their homes, when it wrongly denied them their discounted rate.

The fine, which was originally set at €30 million but discounted by 30 per cent due to PTSB’s agreement to the terms of a settlement scheme, is the largest ever issued by the State’s banking regulator.

You obviously missed the recent planning application for a new giant sculpture at the gold-plated (literally) Central Bank HQ premises. How do you think they’ll pay for that sort of necessity, ha? Certainly not by attempting to recompense those who actually suffered “unacceptable harm”.

No it will go into the National Exchequer to bale out the Banks including the P-TSB

And you all voted for them again last Friday. It’s a bit like the kids getting bullied in the school playground then voting for the bully for Class Representative.

50% voted and a majority of those voted for a continuation of the FG FF freak show. The other 50% gave out about it on social media but boy were they angry.

Electorate needs to put up or shut up.
