With one permanent US military representative on the ground at Shannon and an average of several landings a day and US troops regularly crowding the airside facilities, isn’t it time to start calling Shannon a “base”
Ireland should be de-escalating its involvement in other people’s wars. Gradually reduce the use of Shannon with our US friends and encourage them to use NATO bases 30 minutes away.
