Barrister, broadcaster and writer Paul Anthony McDermott
We are very sad to hear this news. Paul Anthony McDermott was a regular guest on the programme providing our listeners with clear explanations of issues as diverse as bail laws, double jeopardy and Tribunal confidentiality. Our thoughts are with his friends, family and colleagues https://t.co/V1pHQJAGc9

RIP
always remember his lectures in UCD, funny and interesting and had loads of time for the students. So sad to see he’s died so young
Same here, excellent lecturer and a complete gent. A young family too, so sad.
RIP
RIP Always seemed to be well informed and could explain even very complex legal issues.
So sad to read this – a brilliant mind – a man so sincere and honest . My condolences to his nearest and dearest his family, friends, colleagues in academia and journalism. RIP.
He was a great lecturer (when he turned up!!!) and as a total irrelevant point, referred to Derry as Londonderry on many occasions
He seems to have had articles published by The Times until recently.
He was raised in England.
I did not know him personally, but I have read some of his articles and heard him on both radio and TV. He was very clear and concise on air, and both witty and informative in print. He also cam across as a man of integrity.
In any case, I offer my sympathies and condolences to his family.
Very sad news.
A wonderful voice on all things legal.
RIP.
Holy moly, what happened to him? Always coherent on the radio, parsing convoluted legal issues with ease. RIP.
