Rowing across the Atlantic.
Without cox!

so, I signed up for a rowing race across the Atlantic – the Talisker Whisky Atlantic Challenge in 2020. A friend of mine, Kev O’Farrell (top right) and I will row 5000km from the Canary Islands to Antigua in the Caribbean.
We’re doing this for both the amazing adventure of it and hoping to raise some good money for the Childrens Medical Research Fund who raise money for childrens hospitals around Dublin. Kev is a social worker in Crumlin Childrens Hospital…

Very professional promo video. I do a bit of kayaking, also once – white water rafting – invariably I’ve ended up in the drink, then on the drink. It’s really exhausting. There of course will be support craft(s) with food, supplies etc, people involved who supply resources, who are there with you (them). I love the idea, but it sounds kinda expensive. How much cash will reach Crumlin Childrens Hospital after all the expense?
Hi Shayna,
Thanks for the message. Although this adventure is part of a race, we will be rowing the Atlantic unsupported carrying all equipment, food needed etc on our boat.
Please see our website for further info and a breakdown of costs. http://www.thesaltypair.com. We are funding the costs of the row through savings, corporate sponsorship and individual donations. Money for the CMRF will be raised through events throughout 2020 and people can donate directly to the CMRF through this link https://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/thesaltypair.
Thanks again!
The salty pair.
i know kev of old, a sounder lad you won’t find.
best of luck to the pair of ye :)
Damien Brown, ex Connacht rugby player and top gent, did this a few years back. I think it took about 2 months. He looked pretty wild at the end of it.
