this will result in even more refugees, and the yanks warning people of these refugees who “hate their freedom” or whatever, even tho they created the situation. Such a violent, belligerent nation. life is cheap to them.

that ad looks like it’s purposely made to look like a call of duty game. The police commissioner or whatever, when talking about his officers killing a few civilizians when chasing bank robbers, referred to them a few times as “the bad guys” and “baddies” .. imagine having that childish and hollywoody view of things that you use that language.

Wag the Dog was a movie in which a spin doctor makes up a war with Albanis to distract from a sex scandal and problems at home. The allegory here is uncanny. Trump is stoking tensions deliberately to provoke Iran. Just a few mins ago the US state department issued a travel warning over fears ‘Iranian backed militia’ could attack US citizens. Ireland itself becomes a target with rendition flights landing in Shannon (of course Ireland doesnt want to bite off the hands that feed it)…

I’ve always had the impression that Trump was too much of a coward to start a hot war. He’s belligerent and blustering, and loves dropping his MOABS and his drone strikes and torture and assasinations, but he might just be afraid, both of his isolationist base and of the pressures and difficulties of a war that will only be popular at home with neocons and particularly frenzied nationalists. Not that he has the skills or the will to handle whatever’s coming next, though, one way or the rother.

The more I read about this the more likely to me it seems this was a retaliatory strike to reassert dominance and look strong at home, not intended as a first shot in a war. Might end up being that anyway. Let’s hope not.
