Meanwhile, In An Undisclosed Location

at

This morning.

Somewhere in Dublin.

Warehouse Manager Michael Leonard checks the seals of hundreds of ballot boxes ready to go to polling stations in a secure warehouse ahead of voting on Saturday in the Generel Election.

Please don’t ask us where.

Not with provies on the ballot.

Oh c’mon; you know we have to ask:
Who are the two bodies in the final pic?
    (Ghosts of elections past?)

Slightly related – I’ve often wondered how people get the gig for manning the polling stations on the day itself, and for the counting…I’d say it’s quite lucrative. Maybe it should it be done by chronically unemployed people instead, for a modest bonus?

The ones from my locality were coincidentally top members of the Legion of Mary mob and even more coincidentally would rat on you in an instant.

The boxes used in my polling station on any elections, including the most recent one, bear no resemblance to the ones in the pictures above.

If ever there’s a military takeover we can turn the ballot boxes into compost buckets. Just paint them brown, like in 1922 we painted the British red post boxes green.
