Last night.
Ireland-born Eimear Noone becomes the first woman to conduct at the Oscar ceremony.
Meanwhile…
Then, the trio introduced Eimear Noone, the first woman conductor at the Oscars, who—in a horrifying move that surely wasn’t Noone’s choice—only led the orchestra for the Best Original Score nominees, and nothing else for any other part of the ceremony. It was a clear instance of tokenism: as long as we can see her, she can conduct.
“All women are superheroes” said Sigourney Weaver. Oh really!?
It’s a bad time to be a man in the film business in Ireland. Screen Ireland will (and have) prioritized employment and encouraged females to apply for “enhanced” funding. Judging by the standard of dreadful drama being produced, it would appear that their commitment to leveling the gender field over “5 years” is at any cost. Lads best hideaway that talent for a while.
Are you finished writing articles here Terry?
Haa…You guys obsession with Terry wotsit is gas.
Yep, that’s Terry. ‘Charlie’ is not a very clever cover Terry.
Pathetic. Are you going to discuss the topic or just troll?
I don’t think the style is histrionic enough for Terry.
