    Get well all COVID19 sufferers.

The increased count is not a surprise; by Monday it will be 30+. The Gov in Lieu (Lou?) needs to up its game and cancel all large events with more than 5K attendees in close proximity. All large events. No sporting or cultural (translation: sponsored by alcohol companies) exceptions.

The HSE/Harris/Etc management of this situation is incompetent. I see better information and judgement in the comments section of thejournal.ie.

      Italy

      – 4 636 infected.
      – 197 dead.
      – 462 in intensive care.
      – 4.2% mortality rate.
      – 10% in intensive care.

The infected figure is misleading of course as that is only out of what has been tested. The high mortality rate may be due to Italy’s large aged population.

In fairness they have embarked on the most proactive screening program in the EU but apart from the stupidity and selfishness of those people travelling here- why were they not tested at the airport?

The GP in Clare, it is reported, sought advice upon his return from holiday from the HSE, and seven days ago again sought advice from the HSE. As he wasn’t showing symptoms, he has told that he could continue working.
Begs the question – why didn’t the HSE do a test? – after being contacted twice, by a health professional.

More to the point though is that testing should be mandatory for people returning from hot spots. Following the laissez-faire, manãna direction will cost sickness, and probably lives here.

The ordinary folk in the street are taking the mantle – Youghal and other St. Patrick’s Day parades cancelled, but officialdom putting it on the long finger.

Holohan and Harris haven’t a good track record (the attempted covering up during the cervical check scandal) while we have a Doctor as Taoiseach and his advice is basically to go about your daily life as normal as regards meeting people. No tests for instance on people coming in from Northern Italy. The sooner these ‘professionals’ go the better.

A very eye-opening collection of video clips clearly demonstrating that 77 year old Joe Biden is suffering serious cognitive decline – ie. the onset of dementia. It’s astounding that the Democratic establishment are lining up behind him as their chosen presidential candidate -just when you thought US politics couldn’t become any more of a grotesque spectacle. It’s the elephant in the room that isn’t getting enough attention in the media. …mind you, now that I think of it, they now say that Ronald Reagan was starting to show signs of dementia towards the end of his first term – and he got re-elected!

This has already been checked and approved.

First he was advised to wear aviator shades to hide his bewildered eyes, and than the stutter narrative was introduced to explain his gaffes.

Trump is already calling him senile Joe.

If Biden is nominated Trump will annihilate him.

      Rising

      All night while they slept
      the water was rising
and as they sat at breakfast
      with coffee and croissants
      it was rising
      while they bent over desks
      in their important offices
the water rose and kept rising
as they met after work for drinks
(gin and tonic, a good chardonnay)
though they knew it was rising
      they ordered another drink
      and drove home through water
still rising He said I think it’s starting
to go down She said Surely someone
will tell us if we ought to leave
      The children called from faraway
to say We’ve seen it on TV
She said We’re fine although by then
the water was up to the windowsills
They ate their dinner by candlelight
and went to sleep, sure that tomorrow someone
would rescue them and they would be
as safe and happy as they had always been.

I can’t remember exactly where or when – maybe someone here will
But just at the end of the 1st week of the GE Campaign – back in January, Fine Gael were after having a howler, remember the man in the tent under their posters at the Canal?
Coupled with the Trolley numbers? Etc

I remarked about Leo being far too hasty about bringing on an election – like it was Winter still and wondered what was coming down the pipeline that they were trying to get away from that made him run so fast to the Áras

    Well
    Could it be this?

Like the HSE telling a lad to go back to work, as a GP, without even testing him – or his children

    Seriously folks
We haven’t heard the last of this incompetence
    Or the bungling

And at this stage, and I’m no tin foilee, but I do know the HSE, and senior public administration, as well as this Acting Cabinet – and the media

I’m certain I’m not the only one now expecting the number of cases to multiply to numbers that’ll have the schools shut down by next week

If that happens postponed Parades and matches will be the least of the upheavals
