This afternoon.
A GoFundMe campaign called Feed The Heroes was set up on Sunday night to raise cash to buy food and send it to healthcare staff via local businesses.
Cian O’Flaherty‘s initiative was set up with the aim of raising just €250.
It has raised more than €180,000.

I work in the health service and this is a great idea but we realistically don’t need free food. It should go towards people who really need, homeless, elderly so on.
I think it’s a fine gesture. However, the notion of heroes goes far beyond healthcare workers – worth considering those working around the clock to stock shelves, drive lorries for deliveries, and many others.
