Looks like any ordinary day on the Tube. Glad to see they’re taking the threat seriously..

I just spoke to a UK colleague and I mentioned this picture. She said “that pic could have been taken yesterday and just posted today”, as if that makes much difference!

They’ve drastically reduced the number of trains. So even if only a small number of those in Central London are still going in, the tubes are still equally crowded, because there are less trains.

They’ve also closed a load of stations

      as a by the by;
did anyone see the Irish lad on Channel Four News last night
Spokesperson for London Underground/ TfL ?

      Very authentic and genuine
if ye can find the clip its worth clicking on

Its not TfL’s fault- they assumed people would comply with the lock down. As below- name and shame the employers. Sports Direct only agreed to close when Michael Gove called Mike Ashley (owner) out on national television this morning.

How greedy can some people be eh?

        1. V

          Definitely not the TfLs fault

The lad yesterday, sorry I can’t remember his name, Brena I think, was emphatic
          And very clear
Key services and Health Care workers are the only people that should be using public transport

That makes zero sense, frequency should be increased to reduce density if anything. It’s the same principle we see in supermarket checkouts now, have you even seen so many checkouts open in Aldi!?

And for people worrying about curfew and shops only opened for a few hours a day, that won’t happen for the same reason.

WTF is up with England, there’s a danger in the arrogance of assuming you’re right all the time and never second guessing yourself

Ultimate manifestation of thatchers hated towards people who use public transport. Tories want them dead

    1. The Old Boy

By the (admittedly Blairite) Labour Mayor of London ordering the reduction of trains to less than a third of their ordinary frequency?

A lot of those people are non essential workers BUT they are not doing it for the good (or bad) of their health- their employers are forcing them to do it- which is the real disgrace.

And its not just London- same type of images coming from buses in Scotland.

“They smelt of pubs, and wormwood scrubs and too many right wing meetings.
      My life swam around me
It took a look and drowned me in its own existence.
      The smell of brown leather
It blended in with the weather
Filled my eyes, ears, nose and mouth, it blocked all my senses, couldn’t see, hear, speak any longer…”
