Apartment for rent on Rathgar Road, Rathgar, Dublin 6 for €1,200 per month
Today.
Paul O’Donoghue, of The Times Ireland edition, reports:
“There has been a significant increase in the number of renovated Dublin bedsits advertised for rent, many only slightly larger than prison cells, since the Covid-19 outbreak.
“Belgrave Property Management, a letting agent in Rathmines which manages many of the capital’s renovated bedsits, is currently advertising almost two dozen studios for rent. Before the Covid-19 outbreak, it rarely had more than six studios available to rent at any one time.
Meanwhile, Mr Donoghue tweetz….
Quick thread on former Dublin bedsits being advertised since the #COVID19 outbreak.
Many interested in examples. A few here, all let out by Belgrave Property Management

Meanwhile…
Yesterday.
Daft.ie announced that it was working with companies in Dublin to identify empty apartments in the capital that healthcare workers could use free of charge.
disabled parking space are normally 11.5 m2 not 17 m2 , but, don’t let that stop you.
The space is 11.5 sqm but if you’re being really pedantic a space and the clearway around it amounts to 28.8sqm
what an angle to go for “actually disabled parking spaces are a lot bigger” IT’S A FUPPING PARKING SPACE, THATS THE FUPPING POINT!
You’re right comparing car spaces to people spaces is crazy.
There is over 80m² of roadway in Ireland per person – which is bigger than the average living space per person…. but then again cars are bigger than people!
let’s hope each and every one sits idle for months with mortgage payments backing up
yep. i was shocked to see they were still looking for well over a grand a month for these. I’ll enjoy watching that arrogance diminish over time as theyre forced to lower and lower em. i also feel sorry for anyone who does end up in one, because they’ll be turfed out once theres a demand for Air BNB’s and student accom again.
Thanks blushirts
Greedy sods it’s no wonder the world is turning on us nothing only greedy people
expect the government to pay double these prices when acquiring them for health service staff
Bedsit meant bedroom/sitting room. These are Bedkitches where the bed is in the bloomin kitchen. I wish bankruptcy on the landlords and the likes of Daft who shill for them.
Traditionally a bedsit was just a bedroom/sitting room. There was a shared bathroom and no cooking facilities.
