Behold: the 1971 Jensen Interceptor II. 6,400 of these were made between 1966 and 1976 – grand tourers with coachwork designed by Carrozzeria Touring of Italy and a 6.3 litre V8 under the bonnet.

This ‘mild restoration’ model is finished in  Estoril Blue over red leather and will, come late October, be entertaining offers.

Beautiful front half, not a fan of anything rearwards of the doors though. I’d sooner remove any pretence of fitting adults in the back if it meant losing that huge glass bubble sitting on its arse that makes the car look like it’d be as ungainly around corners as a conservatory extension. Think how much sportier the car would have looked if the roof started sloping from immediately behind the driver seat instead.

Yeah; it’s like a greenhouse down the back. Must be one of the largest rear windows in a classic car.

I remember when Fibarr Nolan’s white Jensen Interceptor was often parked outside the Gresham Hotel late ’60s early ’70s
