They sound like halcyon days Bertie. I was not aware that a ferret is a specific reference to a domesticated polecat.
From the Mustelidae family – ferrets, stoats, mink, polecats and weasels amongst others. Amazing creatures, formidable, and, to me, a little bit scary – fear of them running up my trouser leg!
