Shame the actual characters and content were so one-dimensional and actors wooden as hell though
I’d say natural more than wooden.
Yea, they did their best. But amateur drama has its own place.
What the hell are u talking about, were u hoping for something a little more dramatic?!! https://giphy.com/gifs/snl-vh1-classic-1LiryotCCtd7y
They did a fine job.
Pee Pee. I appreciate we’re all a little irritated being cooped up at home.
But I’m allowed to express my opinion. Don’t be such a bully. Thanks
It’s how u express your opinion, Mart Cattle. You make statements, as if they’re widely accepted.
Pee Pee. Yes that’s called having an opinion. I don’t know how to genuflect. Sorry.
What I mean to say is, u speak with a manner that your opinion is true, and everyone else is wrong, rather than just offering your opinion.
Pee Pee my comment was the first one on this thread! Have an oul glass of gin there
I don’t like you, Mart Cattle.
Hugz u ok hun xxx?
I do not like thee doctor fell?
Don’t be midering me.
…serendipity…came across this while channel hopping and saw the first two episodes on ad-free BBC…didn’t know what it was but captivated immediately by the accents and the scenery…my only criticism…no toilet break…can’t wait for next episodes and Dublin…well done everyone involved..excellent drama…
Agreed; I thought the two leads were very well cast. Both characters are tentative rather than wooden, which is in keeping with their roles at this early stage. The leaving cert lad group are totally credible.
Did you not think the mother of the girl was an awful “bitch” caricature/stereotype?
Then her brother was a gobspoo to her as well making her walk in the rain.
I turned it off after that, did it get better?
There wasn’t one character that was actually sympathetic apart from the lead male.
Even then he was incapable of expressing his feelings. I presume that was the point but it’s tedious.
That mother maybe, and the other mother (Sarah Greene from “Dublin Murders”) is hardly old enough…I’m assuming she got pregnant very young…haven’t read the book so I don’t know the back stories.
But the brother is simply embarrassed by his young nerdy sister and doesn’t want to be seen with her.
Yea I thought that too. She was bizarrely young. Like young enough to be his sister.
I thought maybe they would get it on but was sorely disappointed.
…well, there you go…where would you get it only on Broadsheet…you turned off and I nearly wet myself…you don’t get TV criticism like this in the Daily Mail…
hahaha I had made up my mind at that stage love
Hugz to u 2!
I’m twenty minutes in, I predict her getting the ride in no time followed by him denying her and heart break and possibly revenge and / make up … guess will find out :)
You should develop a site called Predictive Spoiler Alert. PSA…has a nice ring to it!
it might be skewed toward the pessimistic tho ;)
Why is a 30 year old masquerading as a schoolboy? In order to have sex with a teenager? Is the story about sexual predators? So many questions, so little Googling.
Irl, he’s 24 and she’s 22…. hardly jailbait.
That’s why I think she’s so well cast; she can look a credible 17/18 now, but will then have to age to a credible early 20’s…at least?
While he has to be a big beefy gaa Iad, I remember fellas just like him.
Anyway, it’s only worth so much discussion.
I blame the hormones in the meat the kids eat ;)
All this is a slow moving version of the Graduate beefed up for the 20 twenties
and the location of South Sligo second level college located at Ballyara a mile
or so west of Tubbercurry which appears to be concealed from the masses, the
selection of the two main characters with their ovivious age profiles which
which are not exactly 17 or 18 is stretching it a bit, anyways if it titallate’s
the lockdowned and cocooned populace, it may well prove a suitable
diversion in a time turmoil:
I’m just relieved he made it back from Bali haunis in time!
Jaysus, Dawsons Creek it aint!
