Because they probably have absolutely no idea that orange has any significance at all in Northern Ireland.
I’m quite impressed that they knew that NI was part of the UK (and the ROI isn’t).

Because it’s the only part of Ireland where the orange in the tricolour national fleg is represented. They should have left it at gold .
It’s not orange. It’s a putrid phlegm colour. More fitting TBH.
